It\'s good to be boating again...........this time in Devon.

After over a year without a boat, yesterday saw us out and about proper. Ended up in Babbacombe, which reminds me of Swanage just without so many boats. Lovely spot, although water was not as clear as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Found our own private cove for lunch which is certainly different from Sandbanks. All that was missing was a few friendly forumites - not a burgee in sight.

Despite a smaller boat without comforts, this is hassle free boating and great fun, now looking forward to rest of summer even without the old forumites.

All the best

Well we were in Ansteys Cove Sunday pm, and Saturday pm also with a stay in Dartmouth in between. What boat were you on? Perfect weather for it, just a pain with all the wash from boats whizzing around.

Must come out for a trip on Blue Fisher sometime soon?

Went straight past Anstey's with ski bob in tow, so we were probably one of those boats that spilt your beer!

I am out fishing tomorrow. Plan to catch a few mackerel and then griddle and eat with a fresh salad before catching a few bass. It pays to be confident /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif and no matter what happens a fresh salad and smooth sea is still well worth the effort.

We'll get together soon.

We were in Ansteys Cove too Sunday pm - Doral 250 - after an overnight stop in Torquay (great to have a children free weekend on the boat). Great spot, but shame about the wash from other boats. What were you on ? (not one of the boats causing wash I hope ! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We were by ourselves in the southern bit of the bay, looked a bit crowded over the other side!

Lovely spot that we often head over to from Torquay for a potter. However this year the number of little red pot markers seems to have multiplied dramatically - I think these must be Cuttlefish pots I guess which have been in the dive press of late.

If this carries on they will be wiped out, which will be a great shame as they are amazing creatures to come across on a dive. Seems they are hell bent on maximising their catches before legislation comes along in 2008 I suppose. Anyone interested in finding out more about this issue here's a link ;
