Yup the boat has now been sold. Who ever said that boating was like going in the shower and throwing £20 notes around lied. After 4 years I have got nearly all my money back except for a few quid and the running costs.
Add to this that when I bought the boat I took the difference in sale value from my part exchange and added it to the mortgage which meant I crept into the next rate bracket that brought the rate down by 1.5% ie enough to pay what I would have been paying ont the boat if I had kept to the same mortgage provider plus we still get mortgage relief of 20% on the interest you pay (in Guernsey) so over four years means that the boat has really cost me nothing, in fact I have made money. Now if I can only work the system again for a nice new 35 footer /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
I am looking for a Fairline Targa 33 or 35 in the meantime before I decide again on what new boat I would like.
