You may recall my thread two years ago when I wrote about my project to restore
" Eleanor of Poole" a Vertue class boat built in 1949.
Well she is finished and will be launched within the next few weeks. Eleanor has been sold and her new owner will be sailing for her maiden voyage to Oslo which will be her new home port.
The work in her restoration.....
Replace all the fastenings in the strapfloors. replace a section of the toe rail and coverning board...refasten hood end planks below the waterline and the garboards..
rake out all caulking, recaulk and stop all seams with redlead putty. Rebuild interior.
New engine, shaft, flex coupling, fuel tank, water tank, new rigging.
Eleanor is still in the BYC compound waiting for me to put in the mast before launching .
