It\'s 16 deg F below freezing outside....

As I navigate myself weirily to my berth on the Northern shore of Lac Ontariario- and for those of you who are interested - at 23.50 ET, it's 16 deg F outside ( and I've just let the bloody cat out!) - mild for this time of year - trust me.! And I ponder! You've heard the descriptions of those less fortunate than ourselves, - He is (seldom a she!) 'two bricks short of a load', ' not the sharpest knife in the drawer', 'a porkpie short of a picnic' and the bizzarly descriptive 'thick as s***'' amongst many others. Well, I'm trying to collect similar descriptions of the not so fortunate, but applicable to those in the boating fraternity. I only have one so far. (He is) 'one wave shorrt of a shipwreck' But, of course, there must be many others.

As you wonder back from church this wonderful Sunday morn, consider, - any good ones you can pass on?

Oh, better let the cat back in and thaw it out with the hair drier. Again!

Brrr

Just make sure you pick up the hair dyer for the cat, and not the paint stripper /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Shouldn't you have pulled your boat out on Labour Day like they do across your puddle in Rochester NY?

I worked for Kodak in UK and always tried to fix Roch trips before LD so I might get a chance to go out with their J24s!

I prefer 'thick as donkey sp**k'

I don't know if this translates properly cross-Atlantic!

PS. I am not a farmer. I have never actually seen donkey **un*, it's just an expression in use 'round our way.
