The annual captive IT Directors fest is scheduled for May of this year - 550 or so IT senior types held captive on the MV Aurora for three days, and feed on caviar, ducks liver and made to drink expensive wines - whilst 200 or so suppliers try and sell their company / services to them.

I went last year and there would be enough free time to meet up for a drink if anyone else from the forum is on board? Failing that it tends to park somewhere around Gurnesy / Sark for a couple of days so we could wave at DepSol.

Anyone else going?

Kevs offer...

Of course Kev - you'd be welcome if you need to make some extra money to pay for rope cutters or the like <G> And if you get to be the chap in charge of my cabin then I'll make sure there's an extra £10 in the tip cuddy - just to show there's no hard feelings for making you bring whisky to me at 01:30.

And Craig (being lazy one post two answers) - Yes.

I went on the HR Directors one last year on the Oriana and I never had time to do anything between appointments, let alone meet up for drinks! You IT lot have got it made!)

Boring.... I'll wave at you whilst your stuck on board and I'm off around the Islands having fun, swimming, water skiing, fishing etc etc.

You'll be stuck in the Little Russell watching all the boats go by.

Supplier baiting...

Checking out suppliers - this year focus will be on doing more for less etc... free to customers but cost loads for suppliers to get a place on the boat <G>

Re: Supplier baiting...

ah the old cut cost at ay expense line hey!!! Good luck, i think from memory the cost per delegate was around £9k... but i think we got around £350k worth of opportunities from it and managed to close about £200k of it... so not a bad couple of days...

Bloody tiring though!!!

Have fun and enjoy it!

If you ever need a damn good corporate ISP let me know :)

Craig.
