Italy - mandatory increase in Third party Insurance

I have just had a note and a new certificate in Italian from my Insurers, Navigators and General, say that the Minimum Level or Third Party insurance was now €5 Million.

Check that your insurer gives you a new certificate.

All probably thanks to the Costa Concordia!!!!

Italian Law demands that 3rd party insurance is covered by an Italian insurance co.
Most UK insurers have a reciprocal arrangement with an Italian co.
You'll find that nearly all insurance policies cover you for £3 million 3rd party - it's just the Italians catching up with the rest of Europe.
