After a late start I had a list of things to do today one of which was a trip to the marina to 'check on the boat'. This consists of me firing up the engine and letting it run for a while while I make myself a cuppa and enjoy watching the comings and goings of the wildlife and other boat owners.

Sadly the list of things I had to do took longer than planned so I never did get to the boat but SWMBO said that if I'm a good boy we can go and stay on the boat next weekend :)

If the weather is even close to being dry I might even take a trip up stream.

Diesel engines, and especially larger ones, prefer to be run under load, so if you can go out for a run, better than running in neutral on the mooring.

I have petrol so should be OK.

I saw the weather for the week and it's looking very mild so it's bound to be bloody freezing when we go and sleep on it at the weekend :)

Fingers crossed for you...

Stayed on the boat Saturday night and a trip out on Sunday, lovely!

Lunch in the Tower Brasserie in Windsor and a trip back in the dark, it was so still and warm for January

this all = very happy me

Doesn't matter, you're better warming it up under load regardless of fuel type. Under load it warms quicker anyway. If you don't have time or the weather does not encourage a jaunt then put it in gear and a fast idle will warm the engine quickly; unless you own a huge mobo it will do no more than give your mooring warps a stretch.

If only it was a huge mobo but sadly not, still my pride and joy though. Quite like the idea of trying to rip the pontoon from the bank though :)

Someone did that in St Kats a few years ago, pulled the whole pontoon in an arc so leaving the tiniest of gaps for us to get through in order to get out!

Glad I'm not a brass monkey

Well SWMBO must have thought I have been a good boy this week as we are off to the boat this evening to spend the night and have a trip out tomorrow. It's going to be cold but I am hoping body warmth will see us through.....if only I could find a body....

I have a check list of what I we may need:

Bottle of wine
Tea bags and milk
Food
Bottle of wine
Wooly hat
Gloves
Thermals (if I had any)
Book
Bottle of wine

If any of you think I may have missed something then let me know.

Go get a heated blanket and a small electric heater if you are plugged into shore power at the marina???

Toasty and worth every penny!!!

A few pounds at Argos = a very happy warm boat :D

We have the small electric heater which is superb but the better half of this crew has internal heat problems that happen to ladies at a certain point in life so while I freeze she is telling me how uncomfortably hot she is!!!

Can't wait though. Better than Christmas it is :)

We are staying over Sturday night and a trip out on Sunday. Tomorrow is the boat show, hide the credit cards!!

We made it. We are here and the food is cooking and the wine flowing. Heater is on and it toasty in the cabin, mind you it's such a small cabin it doesn't take long to heat up.

We planned to go to the boat show but it was not to be but I'm not complaining....I'm on the boat :)

Have a great time at the show.

I've done that in St Kats with a Sealine F43. The trick at St Kats is to tie to the steelwork on the bank, not the pontoon!!
