we went for a little sail yesterday afternoon, sparkling azure sea, everything working well, pootling along at 6.5 knots, happy me, happy boat, happy wife, happy toddler who now has sea legs.

It doesn't get much better.

We're lucky to get so much pleaure out of something.

I felt we needed a positive post after the last one.

Just IM to another about a sail up Buealieu river one spring-time ... mist on the water about 2 feet high ......... couldn't see water, but crystal clear calm day above ... sun shining .... bow cutting mist like a knife .... idyllic .....

Doesn't happen often - but when it does ....

Most of ou know how beautiful the Dart river is. Well we keep our boat In Baltic Sweden, sail for the summer, June, Jly and part of August and have the equivalent of thousands of Dart rivers to play in - with cheap marinas (some like thi some with Wifi) and all other moorings and anchorages are free.
It really is incredibly lovely, long daylight hours, no tides and more places to explore than I could manage if I started my life over again. It is as far as I'm concerned sailing heaven.
Oh yes and the weather is sunny today.
