i thort you had a salty seadog taking you across? The waves are behind you most of the way and the wind is er not really very windy at all. I wd definitely have a look termorrer. In fact with an f2 moderating i wd probly book lunch in le havre but anyway, yore decison of course...
well, the wave predictory thing say there will be some waves on stern quarter 1.5 -2metres which is wavy - but behind so not too bad.
Am sure twill be nicer thursday. But i think the salty seadog shd praps take him out to se what 1.5 m wave looks like - my gues that on a wallopy broom 3 miles in the air probly fine.
Seems to be a it of a trend.....mine's coming out for a couple of weeks next month. Figured I might as well get things done while the weathers bad..... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Dont blame you. Tonights Met Office shipping forecast is a bit marginal (shows how you can never trust 2 - 5day forecast from a couple of days ago). But still might be worth poking your nose out tomoorow. But, if you've got time, take it
Dont want to start another marathon thread but where do you get F2 with waves behind? Tonights shipping forecast for Wight is SW 5-6 backing SE 3-4 which means its going to be off the starboard bow and then on the nose. Not too pleasant if the forecast is correct
Spoke to the coast gaurd today twas his suggestion to go thursday allow for the swell to go down after all the wave height at the greenwich buoy is a wopping 3.3 ft tremble tremble Im up for going this waiting is actually worse than having a baby Not that I have had one you understand that was the wifes job
I bet the forum will heave a sigh of relief when I get across
any way how are you mike ??
did you get that pm i sent you the other day
I've stopped arsing around with winter lift out. Boat moves all year round. Growth in summer. Most of distance sailing in summer. So better zoomy zoomy summer at 25 knots than winter piddlling about at erm 17 when most times only need 8/10. M Farter should be back up to collision speed for the summer. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Nope, didnt get any PM from you. Yup, I think we're all living every second of this virgin channel crossing and we'll all be mightily relieved when you get there!
