Isles of Silly

Have you been there by boat, where did you moor, was a great experience?
If you mean Scilly, then yes , been there many times, love the islands, favourite anchorages are the Cove, between Gugh and St Agnes, Porth Cressa, Old Grimsby Sound and the place with best all round protection, St Helens pool.
I’d happily spend all summer anchored there. A very special place.

Been there a few times. First time we picked up a mooring at St Mary's and got to know the place. Last 2 times we normally go and anchor and move around to visit the islands. Wonderful place and even better when the weather is nice. If your boat can take the ground it opens up a lot more anchorages.

Lovely place.
Tresco, ornamental gardens and figure head museum.
St Agnes, Turks head.
St Martin, Adams fish and chips.
St Mary, the Atlantic, Nicks bar, there is an old porthole on the wall, being a nosey bugger I had a look inside. And there was a sticker “I met the Marines”

Only once been and was lucky to get a perfect 2 weeks, but it is a magical place. The total area of the islands is very tiny and to move to a more sheltered anchorage in the event of bad weather which was my concern is a small distance only. It seemed to be like travelling back in time.
