Does the Imray C7 have a plan of the Scilly Isles?
I only intend to visit St Mary's and wonder if it's enough to have the C7 with me (+ of course the Reeds Almanac)
It's a pity you can't get a closer look at these charts on the internet.

I'm thinking you'll be 'selling yourself short'. A good chart of the Isles of Scilly is, in my view, an essential item of safety equipment if seeking to enter those waters. Going without is a serious false economy. Thousands have, over the years, made that error and regretted it.

So...

Don't go there with just the Imray chart. I did it, at night, with winds up to F9, and got into St Mary's, but I was far from happy with having to do it - and I'd been there before & knew my way around. If you look carefully at the Imray chart it actually tells you to switch to Admiralty charts at just the time things start to get interesting.

My tip, just get the Admiralty charts.

I've got the imray C7 and the more detailed imray for the scillies (could be Y series) but it's not as good as the admirality detailed chart.... as above

use the c7 for the passage and a more detailed chart for pilotage.

edit ooops i mean 2000 series not Y...

Admiralty chart no 34 covers the islands and all the approaches

Admiralty chart no 883 (as shown above) covers the principle islands in greater detail so its good for the channels in between the islands but you miss out some of the eastern isles, the northern rocks and west of Bryher, Annet and the western rocks down to the Bishop.

You may manage with just one or the other but both would be the ideal.

There are also two sheets from Imray which offer the same cover they are part of a folio but are available individually, 2400.3 Isles of Scilly and 2400.14 St Mary's Tresco and surrounding islands

I have the Imray 2400 folio for visiting Cornwall, which includes several charts of the Scillies. I haven't used them in anger, but they certainly look comprehensive.
