Isle of Wight

I am seeking information on anchorages on the south (ie non Solent) parts of the Isle of Wight. I have visited Alum and Totland bays but have no experience of any anchorages between Bembridge and the Needles.

Does anyone have any recommendations either for anchorages or for literature on the subject?

Words like "rocky" and "exposed" come to mind!

There is a small harbour at Ventnor, I'd buy (and read) Wight Hazards from your local swindlery, best guide there is.

Whitecliff bay near Shanklin on the East side is nice to drop your pick for a day of swimming and runs ashore to get ice creams

Similarly Freshwater bay, but you'd need to choose your weather. In fact I've always been lead to believe that Whitecliff bay can suffer from a bit of a swell when you might not expect it.
