Island Time

Just got back from Florida; driving down through the Key's I was reminded of the oft used expression 'island time', a sort of 'manyana' philosophy, when I saw a sign that said:

Oktoberfest Party!
November 13 thru 15.

You rarely see the concept of 'island time' so clearly defined!

I have just been down on the Rio Dulce looking at a boat with a bit to do on it and while sorting out quotes for things I learned that there was nothing down there that had the same degree of URGENCY as Island time.

Bought one in the USVI instead so am just on Island Time.

Just come back from Key West where it was "fantasyfest" now that WAS a party.....

Yes, been to a few Fantasy Fest's over the years. In the late 80's we did them by boat, moored hard by a tiki bar or anchored out, but more recently by car and hotel. Fantasy Fest should be on everyones 'bucket list'.

We've just got back from Florida as well and we saw that sign, too! Can't remember where though. Have to say the weather at this time of year is better in tri-state area (Cal, Ariz and Nevada), we had a lot of strong winds, cloud and boy was it cool sometimes. But we did enjoy driving 'round Florida's coastline and it was good (but sad) to visit my Dad's old condo in Marathon. Key West over the w/end (7th/8th) was a bit too much for us, but it made Gay Pride in brighton look like a.........well, a wet w/end in Brighton to be honest! We WON'T be flying BA again, that's for sure, Virgin for us from now on. Kennedy space center was good though.
