Island harbour iow - any news?

Haven’t heard anything about this despite all sorts of rumours at the boat show about one of the big players taking it over. Any news?

I was there last week. Richardsons are operating normally, I gather they are operating the lock on demand. One boat has been given a berth there since the collapse, no ide vhow, but 100% true, it was our neighbour on Folly A pontoon til recently. No sign of anything else, nothing 8n the local news that I have seen.

Tried to call them yesterday to book a berth in the summer but no reply so left message....no call back as yet...

Emailed Richardsons and got a reply from Carla, who said there were only 2 staff in the Marina office, and that they are taking bookings, and that if I emailed back to her my requirements she would pass them on.

Apart from that it all seems normal there. The Breeze is open, the boatyard, (Richardsons) is busy.

Thats weird, the Breeze website stil has them as closed although the defunct Island Harbour site (still credited to Univend) has a live link to them

My mistake, it was open for a while, but was closed yesterday, no sign of re opening. Island Harbour is a reasonable unlit walk from the city lights of the Capital (Lets hear it for Newport?), so visitors should be prepared to be self sufficient for everything except water and chandlery.

A walk downstream to the re opened Folly might be easier.
