Finally got around to taking photos of the work Louise has been doing on the boat. A lot of it was going on whilst the engine was being done before Christmas, she then banned me from the boat whilst she finished it off.

She made new covers for all of the upholstery, sanded/cleaned all the wood and oiled/varnished as appropriate. She then used mosaic tiles in the Galley and made new curtains and cushions. It looks like a different boat. I'm saving up to do the headlining now, then I think we'll be done. Lovely sail this morning in the bay, then practised mooring for an hour or so at mermaid quay.

Met a bunch of England supporters at mermaid quay in high spirits. I called across 'You've got no chance boys. Absolutely no chance.' That quietened them down.

Aye, well it was only like that for 10 mins whilst I took the photos. Then it was full of ropes and wellies and sailing jackets, a dog, sandwiches, coffee and tools.

As usual.

Cheers Graham, Chris.

Yes, I'm happy with the boat now, and I can sail, a bit, but I'm really struggling with the close quarter stuff under power. I went over to the finger pontoons at MQ yesterday and made a right mess when going astern to get out. I do understand about prop walk, and the effect of the wind, but she really was a handful, so that's my next trick to learn.

Louise sailed around the bay with main alone - the line used to take in the genoa was all tangled somehow, so I had to strip it afterwards, but it really was nice to get out and have a sail. I was going to do a video of the bay like Graham, but I couldn't do the accent.....

We built out own camper van a few years back, and she did all the seat covers in that. Bought a roll of material off ebay and a £90 sewing machine and away she went. Fair play, I do think she does a marvelous job.

Sure does look good, does the cooker work?
We're in Cardiff over Easter - bacon sarnies all round please! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
