iSailor Question - Head Line

iSailor has two ways of calculating the Head Line, either by COG or HDG. The heature isn't even mentioned in the manual (7.7 Boat Settings).

Anyone know how it works and which is the best to use if I'm using it in conjunction with the AIS heading (in the sensors section) of other boats to see how close we're likely to be?

For the OP:
Generally, especially with electronic nav, heading is usually used for the boat's heading rather than the COG, but ultimately I guess use whichever suits your style of nav better. I've no idea how to set it on iSailor as I don't use it.
