ISAF OFFSHORE SPECIAL REGULATIONS, arrrrgggg

Bosun Higgs - You mention 'no anchor in the bow roller'... I seem to remember removing the anchor from the roller for Round the Island races but cannot now see any reference to having to do that for ISAF requirements nor in the 2013 RORC Notices of Race.. Am I missing something?

No - I was saying that was the only instruction we had locally until yesterday. I guess it comes about because we sometimes race two very varied fleets round the same laid course at the same time in a pretty confined area so collisions and the occasional loss of masts etc arent unknown. Exciting. Bit like those Royal Signals motorbike teams

The MGRS34 I've just bought has had the anchor hawse removed and the hole sealed up.
The anchor's live in bags, down below, either side amidships.
I think that's more a weight distribution issue than a safety one.

The 6 Kru sport Pro LJ's arrived today with 3 x 3 hook lines and 3 x 2 hook lines.

Have been doing research on the MGRS34 and found that "Rebel" GBR4052 did the Fastnet in 2001 and 2005 (finished 46th out of the 254 finishers).
However I also notice that our SSS stability numeral is only 25 and now you need a minimum of 28 for the Fastnet.

Royal Escape Race RORC CAT 3 compliance

Passage racing maybe but RORC racing is probably not for you. The RORC is about as competitive as you can get in UK waters and generally not easy passages. There are other alternatives - take a look at the Royal escape race (google it) and other similar events....

Full compliance with RORC special regulations category 3 with liferaft was a requirement for last year's Royal Escape Race...
