I have bought a boat with the IS15 Tranceiver behind the instrument panel and 2 head units on the pedestal. I have installed my not-Simrad DSC and chart plotter over the chart table but to feed the GPS into the system I have to install a roblink cable to the pedestal; I can't plug it in to the tranceiver. For that I would need the IS15 Expander box. To me it seems a bit stupid that they did not include a NMEA IO port on the box... is there a smart way around this? Or have I not understood something?

I think you are correct - it would need a signal "in" to one of the instruments rather than the transceiver. It does work and Roblink cables are quite small but what a pain! I too wish I had an expander rather than the transceiver.
Cheers
