is this trim and tilt right?

in this video i am moving the motor up and down,when it gets to a particular position it makes a different noise and moves faster on the way up and slower on the way back down.
is this normal?
do i/can i check any fluid levels? how do i do this if i can?

on the video the last time the motor goes down it appears to drop suddenly..this did not happen its just my camera phone.

Yup, perfect. The idea is it moves slowly for accurate trimming when you're at speed. But moves quickly when you're beyond the normal trimming area and are tilting for beaching or trailering.

You shouldn't use the "fast" part of the arc when travelling at speed.

100% agree with ari, but i noticed the drop slightly and would say you have trapped air in the ram or very low level of hydraulic fluid in the rams, my other question is this, i think the leg should travel further down on it trim setting the travel looks to high at its first start of travel, unless it the camera angle giving me bug eyes.

I had the engine as you a mercury v6 1984 on my Fletcher Bravo GTO same age 1984. I would highly recommend a seloc or merc manual for it, cheap to buy, just do a search on the net.

great news, thank you for the replies.

your right,that was not the full travel downwards, its just that i had the trailer board mounted at the time which sits behind the leg so i didnt want to mash it up. well spotted though.
