I would like to call upon the colective wisedom of the forum for your comments on the follwoing deal.

I've been offered a trade of my 1997 bayliner 2855 with merc 5.7 plus £32k cash for a 1991 sealine 328 with twin ad41's. Bayliner in excellent condition sealine seems fine pending a detailed imspection and survey if I proceed. Is this a good deal?

Any one have knowedge of 328's for things I should be aware of?

Gary

Prices always difficult, but only from my amateur price watching I would expect to pay about 25-30K for your Bayliner and 50-55K for the Sealine. So as with all part-ex's you loose a couple of K's over private deals, but its no hassle so only you can judge how good. Can't comment on the Sealine but with all boats of that age, condition, condition, condition /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree with the comment above. If you did the deal yourself you might end up 2-4k better off. However you might also end up not being able to sell your boat or ending up with 2 boats.

The deal is'nt fantastic but it does allow you to change your boat with little hassle. (Try offering 30k to swop)

The 328 is a great boat excellent accomodation and good handling. Full survey obviously including engine inspection.
Make sure you see the AD41s started from cold, as all will tell you on here they smoke but some worse than others.
328s on the market currently range from 55k-65k dependant on age/condition so doesnt sound a bad deal IMHO.
If i can tell you anything else about the 328 pm me.
