Is there a Owners club for Halmatic 880 ? Help req for Perkins 4107

Hi all

Have a chum who needs to locate a new/refurb altenator for the engine in his Halmatic 880. Its a Perkins 4107 he tells me. Anyone know of an owners club or where we might track down said altenator ??

HWMBO when he needed a replacement alternator for our 4-107, visited local car scrap-yard and found one with similar mountings/connections. It was bolted straight on, connected up and has been fine for years. As he told me when I questioned the wisdom of this, the Perkins is a shore based engine used in taxis, dump trucks, allsorts of land machines. A second advantage was later when the charging went weak on it, he unbolted and took it to a car alternator service. Two hours later and 20 quid, he refitted it and full service resumed.

Take it into Lucas or similar, they will have an equivalent if not a direct replacement.
