Went for a quick sail today. My Son, the Boy Wonder, and I went round for a shufty at the QM2 (just for a destination). Anyway, Boy Wonder, announces he's "freezing" as only superlatives are allowed to our offspring. So turned straight round having had a look. So, having left Deacons at 0945, we were back on our berth about 1345. A short sail on a fresh, blowy day - v chilly. I arrived home about 1530 absolutely cream crackered!
This always seems to happen. After sailing, I'm absolutely shattered - as are others. Now, leaving aside my abilities as a skipper as the reaon - due to nervous exhaustion, there is an "old wives tale" that talks about "fresh air always making you tired".
So, anybody care to theorise or even provide a rock solid answer as to why we get so very tired after exposure to lots of fresh air?
