by not signing up to the Kyoto Agreement?
Will all existing marinas and harbours become deep water ones?
Could Bembridge harbour become usable? Would Bembridge revert to being an Island?
Would new marinas spring up in desirable locations (backlawns of scuttlebutt members?)?
Would it drive down the cost of existing marinas?

or.......

Should we take it more seriously and propose some sort of action like trade sanctions?

Maybe we should have a popular revolt and stop buying goods and services from countries that haven't signed the agreement? If this was done by citizens of all signatory countries I guess it would make quite a difference. In fact, we might even lower their emission levels for them!

On the contrary, sea level rise is already costing Lymington berth holders more money. We have to contribute to a fund to be used for "harbour protection measures" which means protecting the town from flooding. Needless to say, the town residents aren't paying into this fund.

So the answer is no, the US is not doing anyone a favour.
