Just got back from three and half weeks cruise along South Coast (no France due to late dog passport application snafu). Trying to frame an argument to put to the management for sticking mutt in dog-prison for a few days and going to Oostende. Cheap wine would be a clincher. Any tips/links?

Thanks for info...

Not sure yet. Just come back from three and a bit weeks along South Coast. I need to show my face at work so they remember to pay me then we can think about it. Perhaps in a couple of weeks.

Delhaize are currently doing a too- drinkable vin gris du pays d'oc for EUR 2,69, buy 5 get 6th free. Perfect for a balmy summer evening, if ever we get one.

I have heard (but could never condone) thet a 2p coin works in the supermarket trolleys, and that thirsty sailors trundle trolleys from supermarket to port, and leave them there. Tut-tut

Quite right, I have a little key ring, 1 Euro coin for French trolleys, a 50cents Euro coin for Spanish, a £1 coin for the English ones, and a 2p coin for Belgian trolleys- it saves hassle looking for coins when making an impromptu shop.

I don't, however, dump trolleys- which makes me madder than a wet hen when I see where the lazy sods who do ,leave them abandoned.

In Belgium they do sometimes adopt a practice which can catch one out.

Some smaller supermarkets instead of using a conveyor belt, will lift purchases from one trolley and deposit them in the previous shopper's trolley , thus you will get the previous person's coin!! It can take some explaining when you loiter for the bloke behind you in the queue and try to explain why you want his trolley
