Morning/Afternoon All (delete as appropriate..)
Just thinking about an aux engine for our Sealine 220, but exactly how big should it be?? There are recommended sizes for powering a craft but little advice when it's use will be limited to 'getting you home'. I seem to recall Sealine quoting a max power for their bracket though - maybe 4hp??
I was thinking along the lines of a 5 or 8hp Honda (don't want both engines to break down!). The former might find use on a dinghy but would it be up to the job?
I presume long shaft would be preferable for the aux. I've no problems with it looking silly, but would there be any implications for an inflatable with a prop dangling three feet below the floor?!
Any words of wisdom welcomed as always.
Take care and enjoy the weekend
James
PS. Don't chandlery prices vary? Buying a set of coastal flares I found prices between £65 and £90 (same make). Drifted into Aladdins Cave at Swanwick - to you sir £50! Thanks lads (and lassy)
