But do you keep your fingers crossed when you say it ? I do agree with you though and have made it clear to my kids that I am more likely to need their help than be able to leave them much!
Leaving my children an inheritance is not a concern, hopefully by the time they inherit, they should be well past the point of actually needing that sort of money.
I would rather provide a bit of cash earlier on - for example I have just given son 6 months salary in order for him to try to set up his own company without having to worry about the need for a living salary.
BTW anybody wants advice on company mobile and landline stuff I know a good contact /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Me too, They both have post grad degrees and no student loans to repay. They had their fair share of skiing and boating holidays, S.H.cars when they passed their tests and a Rolex on their 21st. They were not spoiled but I figure we did our bit and if we die broke so what?

Ditto - we made the decision that we will pay for the kid's higher education (all of it: tuition, cost of living,...). I don't want them to worry about student loans.
But, from then on it's: Go forth & do great things - mum & dad are off sailing (and will no doubt come knocking - penniless - in a decade or so).

Agreed. My 25 year old has had a 'fair bit extra' over the years. She'll now have to wait a while for the rest.
Mind you, I'm being a 'leetle' hypocritical, I'm retiring early because I'll have a reasonable inheritance in due course. In the meantime I'm going sailing ~ guess I'll lose some weight living on rice & beans /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
