Recently had to remove my Raymarine wind vane from top of mast (rusty after too many years of neglect ) for some TLC. Once sorted, replaced it and she is now spinning merrily.
However wind direction indicator is now 180 degrees out.
Now, I am aware that recalibration/reorientation is required (turn boat 2 x 360 degrees) - which I have done, but I sort of expected that it would then start pointing in the right direction !!
Reading the manual states that once the 360's have been done, I should then sail head to wind (!) and adjust the heading indicator using the associated buttons on the head unit- my question is, is it likely that I would have to adjust it by as much as 180 degrees? or is something else wrong?
As always your thoughts, ideas and expertise very welcomed.
