Is it ok for my drives with salt water anodes to be in fresh water for 3 months

For those who have been following my decision to bring my Sealine S37 back from Spain to sell here, I have introduced another variable.
It will be with Burton Waters (or as jfm calls it Burton Backwaters)
It will be potentially in their fresh water marina for 3 months.
Could this short period cause any problems with of course the wrong anodes.

As the boat will be out of the water it would be easy to change the anodes to Aluminium.
Don't BW have hardstanding space with an access platform to boats which are on brokerage. I bought my boat when it was ashore at BW Lincoln.

The view of BW is that it will be more attractive to a buyer if it’s on the water (and I get 3 months free)
A buyer is unlikely to keep it in Lincoln so will be soon putting it back in salt water again.

You might be surprised - no shortage of boats such as yours on inland waterways.
Given that the boat will be out of the water for transport it is a bit of a no-brainer to switch the anodes for aluminium, which will work in fresh and salt. An easy job and not particularly expensive.

Thanks guys
Easy fix and as @Portofino says it gives the wrong impression to ignore it.
I hadn’t realised that Al could be used in salt water, makes sense and it would just fizz away faster but offer the same protection.
Interesting point Greg and Martyn about these boat’s being quite popular on inland waters, in fact we hired a boat for the day on the Norfolk Broads a couple of years back and I was surprised to see some quite large craft there chugging around.

Loads of Sealines of all flavours on the upper Thames, a very popular marque.
It is not unknown for a boat for sale from our area to be relocated to the sales pontoon of a Thames brokerage in order to take advantage of the Thames price premium.
Boats appear to achieve a better price simply due the number of possible buyers in the catchment area and the fact that the surrounding Royal Counties invariably seem somewhat less affected by the financial woes afflicting the rest of the UK and outside the M25 ?

this forum is amazing with such diverse knowledge , sometimes it’s tricky to spot the replies from posters who have experience of similar situations from theory, but still all good answers.

I used to keep my boat in a Lincolnshire freshwater canal not too far from Lincoln so I expect you will experience similar conditions , I had Volvo penta and mercruiser outdrives
all that will happen to your boat if left either with zinc or without any anodes for 3 months in fresh water Is it will get mucky.

only issue you may have is when you go back in salt water the zinc might need cleaning With a soft brush or power washer In order for them to work properly in salt water.
