Is it me...?

Or is this the most perfect two-stroke oil container ever?!

The smaller 15wash /525ml size might be more convenient esp as this 25 wash size will not hold the full contents of a litre bottle of oil.

But sadly I find that despite the fancy pouring spout they dribble!

Don't they still have those canny ones (Shell, had them I think, I think) where you could squeeze the bottle to push oil up into a smaller graduated upper chamber within the bottle to measure a precise amount, then when you upend the bottle to tip into the filler only that measured amount came out of the bottle and the remainder stayed in the bottom of the bottle?

Perfect, until her indoors pours 2T into the washing machine.
I'd like to watch that fight:encouragement:

That would be her fault if she went into the garage/ workshop/ garden shed and picked up a bottle labelled "2 stroke oil" and put it in the washing machine.
If she is inclined to do that sort of thing be very worried about the cooking ....... I'd eat out !

I darn't go and try to find out about the dribble..... Mrs. S would make me do washing if she catches me playing with it.

Personally, I like the non bio...... doesn't itch me! :)

Yes, uncannily similar to that! In fact now I think about it I think I still have one in the shed. (Which reminds me I also still have a two-stroke outboard in there I haven't used for a long time.) Shell (or whoever it was) changed to an ordinary bottle, but I kept one of the old types like that, and have refilled it many times.

IIRC the oil with that type of bottle was more expensive than some, and once they changed the bottle I bought cheaper brands, so if I was typical (unlikely as that seems) any money they saved on the bottle would have been lost by reduced sales.

That's exactly what I was thinking of too. My first thought when I clicked through to the Persil bottle was "but how do you measure it out?"

In any case, a couple of years ago I bought a load of little 100ml plastic bottles off eBay, and filled them all with oil. Each one thus gives 50:1 mix when emptied into a 5l petrol can.

The blue stuff you put in the bottom of a Portapotti came in a bottle like that Redex one so might be still available. Would need a good wash out before I'd trust it with my 2-stroke oil.
