It's showing what has occurred.You have to sign up for the Premium Service to get a 3 hour forecast. I'll stick with seaweed.

I use raintoday a lot if I want to know if it will rain where I am in the next hour or two.
It doesn't take much insight to work forwards from a big colourful lump advancing on my house.
It's useful in avoiding getting soaked on the bike if you have some flexibility in the day.
For a 'rest of the day' forecast I usually use XCweather.

'Rain Today' is the same radar imagery as the Met Office. They don't own their own radars!
