Scary. Have turned back in a rib before now cos I was concerned that the wind was blowing so hard on the nose off the peak of each wave that exactly the same would happen
Is it me or is there something wrong with the continuity in this clip, in the frame before the "flipping" wave the foreground is different is it two pieces spliced or doctored?? Hard situation to get out of once underway though, even so P
The RNLI ribs have waer ballast in the front of them to stop this happening. I can only assume that either the water had been dumped or the ballast tank was empty. Of course, even with ballast it is possible to flip a RIB but it did look light in the front end.
From what i've heard from the rib.net forum, the crew were all washed away from the boat apart from the cox. The crew washed up on the beach and the cox managed to right the boat but failed to get back in and ended up on the beach with the boat.
