I'm very keen to trace the current whereabouts and ownership of this lovely yacht.

She was designed by Mylne and built by Fife in 1934 or 5. 54 foot Marconi cutter - cut down to a ketch for use by the Island Cruising Club in the 70s and 80s. However, I found reference to her as a cutter amongst details on the net of the Prada Classic Boat Rally this year so it looks as if she has been restored to her original rig.

I worked aboard the Irina many years ago and loved the boat. I have always thought hers was probably the most graceful and perfectly proportioned hull I have ever seen. I was delighted to see that she's still sailing and would really like to know her more recent history.

If anyone knows anything about her or has any thoughts as to where I could find out, I would be most grateful.

I've asked around Salcombe and apparantly Irena was seen in San Tropez about 6 weeks ago.

Re: Irina VII at st trop - Cannes?

Yes, it's in the listings (look at Inscrits : tradition) for the racing for Voiles de St tropez (formerly Nioularge) 2003

I would bet (a bit) of money that this is one of many classics which are wintering at Cannes, west side of the old port.
