For those of you with Iridium Pre-Paid airtime, please note the following from one of my providers:
Please be advised Iridium have implemented a new minutes expiry policy which will take effect from 17th December 2013.
To summarise; prepaid minutes will no longer roll over indefinitely and will expire according to the below rules:
Prepaid Expiry Policy:
Prepaid units which have been carried over for more than three years will expire on a daily basis from prepaid account balances.
For any customers who have purchased a 3k/5k e-voucher since December 17th 2009 and going forward, a four-year expiry period on units will apply.
Policy Details:
Applies to all prepaid accounts (Scratch Cards and OpenPort Iridium GoChat® Cards are not affected).
A prepaid account which has a zero unit balance but has not exceeded the expiry date is still active and is eligible for additional purchases of minutes or e-vouchers to replenish the unit balance, provided the voucher type allows.
Units that are less than three years old (four years for 3k/5k e-vouchers) will continue to be available until the e-voucher expires, account expiry, or until the units become subject to the expiry policy as described above, whichever comes first.
Expiry Information Sources:
For customers: Unit balances and expiry information will be available to customers by calling 2888 or sending an SMS to 2888 from their Iridium handset.
Beginning in February 2013, prepaid subscribers will be given the total number of units that may expire if not used before December 17th 2013.
After December 17th 2013, users will be given the balance of units that may expire if not used within the next six months. This message will be based on the oldest e-voucher purchase activity and units that are subject to expiry within the next six months, if applicable.
As always, if you have questions, send a message.
Cheers
