Ireland is like Peanut Butter

Is it true that Guinness is more expensive over there than here ? That does seem a bit nuts..

Otoh, there was that first ''feck off, we ain't having any of it'' Euro vote

Don't know if it is more expensive or not but it certainly tastes alot better over here.

I don't understand why Guinness sponsor the bar at LIBS and then fail to train the staff to how to pour the stout properly.

The stuff I was given last year was pure slop!!

Ediohir ain't wrong. Expensive marinas, expensive (and often incompetent) services, few decent chandlers - and that's just the sailing bit. Pubs are carp- dark, dingy and dull. No beer (there's only so many pints of Guinness a man can drink). Expensive yet mediocre restaurants, cratered roads, dysfunctional government, rain, green mould and litter. But on the other hand sailing the SW coast is crackin' and the folk in the country are fine..

Why is it everytime I type **** I get 4 asterisks? Surely carp is an acceptable word to use when something is not quite as good as it ought to be. Can we say faeces?

with swmbo went for week touring southern ireland just before xmas - lovely countryside - we found drivers refreshingly polite (especially compared to our home area of southeast england) but the price of eating out - ouch ! pub grub - by which we mean ordinary (very) pubs not gastro pubs - the typical steak and chips more than £20 (each!), we even saw jacket potatoes in pubs for £8-9 , shudder to think how the locals afford to eat out

We have a government who care only for themselves and their cronies Our young are emergrating in droves we have eastern europeans and africans coming in their thousands. We have taxed ourselves out of competition ie 1, the gov.takes so much out of the pie to run a half ars-ed welfare state that wages have to go up just to allow people to live.2,To avoid the huge taxes hordes of shoppers drive hundreds of miles north to shop taking millons out of the economy 3,the high costs of the taxes mean that goods produced here are two expensive to sell abroad. The latest mad thing is they have increased the cost of motor fuel so it is no longer cheaper in the south so shoppers going north now can fill their tanks and save even more.God help us all.

Bit nutty in parts!
But a great place to sail
