Listening to the news this morning I hear that an offer has been made to purchase IPC by AOL/Time Warner for I think hear 1.? Billion. Are we really paying Alan and Kim that much in monthly subs?

Will the new MBY vessel be a Sunseeker 105MY?

Will we have the c????y AOL interface on the web site and only be allowed to access using the AOL browser?

Lets hope not.

Re: Background info

The AOL discussions have been reportedly underway for some time. It's not a takeover in the hostile sense, IPC is owned by a buyout fund called Cinven (the ultimate owners are a "club" of about 75 pension funds, banks, insurance comapnies, high net worth individuals, government offices and US university endowments). The same people who own William Hill, Red Funnel Cowes-Soton Ferry, Odeon Cinemas, Kappa, and many other varied businesses. IPC was bought with the specific intention of being developed then sold within 3 years or so, so it's not a surprise. Don't be alarmed by the figure, Cinven paid 860m to buy it and selling it for 1billion is therefore what you might expect. IPC publishes over 100 titles I think.
