Hi all, just thought i would tell you what a great day we had today going over to the IOW. sea state was very good, food was great, booze even better. Not a lot of boats out there today? ended up at fishbourne. all round a great day. The season has started for us, this is the second time this year we have been out. who needs to wait for the summer on days like this.

Could not agree more. A great day out yesterday, trip out to Portsmouth then Cowes and Folly for lunch. Today a ride to Brighton, met a few friends, flat calm sea and the sun came out for a while. Heaven!! The season nevers ends.

Yep - I was in the Solent yesterday too - nice and calm, but a bit cold. In fact my boats been in the water all winter so we've been out often. Where on the hamble are you berthed?

Ah! I've seen your S23! I'm moored at Eastlands just North of M27 bridge!!

It changed hands about 18 months ago. Lot of work going on. New buildings are for marine based companies. Also putting in shower and loo block. Waiting planning to have full walk on pontoons etc. I'm moored on a river pontoon in the middle. Sprint with blue cover if your passing. I'll keep an eye out on my way out. Theb oat is coming out on Wednesday for service and a quick antifoul, should be back in by beginning of March.

Chicken! I can't anyway; I'll be sitting in on advanced PB course in preparation for my Instructor rating. However, should you wish to venture to Poole on Saturday night, I'll let you buy me a beer - or maybe even allow me to sleep on your magnificent vessel to save me having to drive alll the way back to Hamble on Sat night only to drive back down again on Sunday morning /forums/images/icons/wink.gif You never know what arrangement we could come to!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Yeah I will be coming out of the water when I get it back from sealine, being checked out at the moment. Has the mooring fees gone up much at Eastmans, a few at foulkes were moored there but said he put the price up a large amount?
There are due to close the bridge soon so they can clear/repair it. not sure of the times yet.

I think the fees are VERY resonable at Eastlands. All I can say is they must be very cheap at Foulkes! The bridge should have been closed from Mid December but was not! On my way through the other day, one of the guys working on it said the job should be complete by end of March. I'm not sure they are now actually going to close it and, if it is, I think it will be only for a short time.
How are you finding the S23?I looked at them when they first came out, seems a nice little boat, particularly with the Kad 32. Only thing is I thought it may be a little underpowerd, but having now put a diesel in my Sprint, my views have changed in terms of relative horsepower.

The power is very good, I get 28 knots, but mostly stay around the 22 mark. she handles well, but the trim tabs are a must have. This is my first diesal and what a differance cost wise. I had the maxum S21 petrol. cost a packet to run. £145 now only cost £40 and I get a lot more distance
