Am considering spending the winter in the Ionian. Has anyone had experience of Levkas or Gouvier as marinas for wintering?

Also, our crew is complemented by a five year old girl eager for playmates, is anyone heading towards the Ionian with children on board? We are approaching the Ionian from the West.

Cant comment on winter but I've stayed there a few times in summer and enjoyed the marina so long as the wind was not blowing from the town.
I'm moving my boat to Lefkas marina in June - will PM you with feedback then. I know there a couple of regulars on the forum who are based there so Im interested in their replies also.
Some people also over winter in Nidri ? - lot cheaper than Lefkas

It's fine.

Big supermarket just opposite the marina entrance. Still several tavernas open. As to the litle one, there were a few small children around Gouvia this winter. Rather nasty pack of semi wild dogs though but their bark was worse than their bite - don't actually know of anyone getting bitten.

Rain is the main problem in Corfu. it gets a very wet winter however this winter has been quite mild if a little windy.

Marina gives 10% discount for CA, RYA & some owner associations. They also will charge you at say the annual rate but take it from your bank at the monthly rate until it's paid - "Interest Free Credit".

There are sdome owners who stay on-board for the whole winter and will, for a small consideration look after your boat, run the engine periodically and give it a wash.

Electricity is included as is washing non-potable water. Drinking water is metered. Plenty of yacht services but the marina expects a cut if you use outside contractors.

Let me know if you want any further info.

Moved our yacht to Lekas Marina last Oct. Left her in until last week when she came out for a quick scrub and back in ( the boat that is!)
It`s a great place to stay in the winters are not too bad , wettest months seem to be Jan and Feb but he sailing can be great right through to dec and again from march with the adde benefit that you can get in to any harbour which can be much more diificult in the summer months with hoards of flotts around. We decie to use this marina after many good reports , the place is spotless and the staff very helpfu.
Also being a working town it is open all year although obviously much quieter in the winter. Our own local ( english ) engineer has no problem working on the yacht and we have not been charged a premium for this!
Lidals supermarlet has just opened and is well cheap as in UK.
I pefer this to gouvia as it`s smaller and more of a little community here which consiering it`s a very new marina is a real benefit.
What`s your boat and name? look us up if you decided to come here
we`re on Sun Odyssey 37.1 Nefele.
