I resurrected an old thread recently and posted about the Epirb on the boat I recently acquired http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?407771-Epirb-recall&highlight=epirb+recall. As I said on the thread i left the unit with the agents in Lefkas or I THOUGHT I DID. I'm back home since Wednesday night and this morning for the sake of having a record I decided to send an e mail to the agents. So I went to the GME website again and looked up the details of the agent and got an e mail address. That's what I did last weekend as well and saw the agents are Ionian Marine Safety. There was no website address so I did a google search and it brought me to this page http://www.yacht-assist.com/ims.html with the banner heading for Ionian Marine Safety and that's where I left my Epirb.
I sent an e mail this morning to the e mail address given on the GME contact page and copied it to the e mail address on the previously quoted website which is Contract Yacht Services. I very quickly got an e mail from Mr Nikos Stamatakis, Managing Director of IonianSafety.com telling me I didn't leave my Epirb with his company. After some correspondence it emerged Nikos was previously a partner of the company trading as Ionian Marine Safety but is no longer connected with them. He says, however, he is the agent of GME.
Confused? So am I. I haven't heard back from Contract Yacht Services trading as Ionian Marine Safety which is where I actually left the Epirb. I'm expect I will hear back from them in due course and in the meantime I'm posting this for information only as there's confusion at least as to who is who and more particularly who is an authorised service agent of what.

Just an update, not to leave it hanging, I got 2 e mails from Contract Yacht Services/Ionian Marine Safety the second a very reasonable one from the boss Joe Charlton explaining the background and confirming they are no longer dealers/service agents for GME. They still accept GME products for service and repair and work through the distributors in Athens. It would benefit all concerned if GME sorted out their website information.
