I asked this on the WOA forum but I’ll ask here as well…. Does anyone know a source of the interscrews that are used for some of the fastenings on the locker doors on Westerlys? Our Westerly Sealord has several locker doors and cabin doors that I have needed to remove for headlinings replacement and varnishing etc and the interscrews have a habit of breaking. I’ve been searching the web but without success. The matching c/s machine screw appears to be 3.5mm diameter thread.

Thank you. Hadlow have some 3.5mm ones but as they admit, they ordered 2000 but they were made with chunky heads instead of the nice counter sunk heads he wanted/preferred
£1 each with the screws and I’ve ordered a pack of ten and if the heads are too chunky I’ll get my friend with a lathe to thin the heads down a bit.

I rarely come across 3.5 machine screws other than for electrical face plates. They are not imperial are they?

I could be wrong, but aren’t the electrical ones a BA size? Would support the idea that John’s Westerley screws might be imperial.

I have already commented on the Westerly site, but for everyone else please read this.

Westerly used chrome plated brass interscrews as they not not corrode the alloy window frames like stainless steel does. The 3.5mm diameter and being made of brass makes them almost impossible to find.

Fortunately I’ve had all my windows (more or less) replaced and Ian Collett (who replaced the windows while he was doing our headlinings) has a supply of spare brass 3.5mm interscrews he jealously guards.

The ones I’m buying/bought are for the forepeak locker door hinges and the saloon locker door hinges.
