Apparently the Brits are the No 1 internet shoppers in the world. We've just overtaken the USA at 5.6% of all sales being over the internet by achieving 5.7%
Tesco probably account for a goodly portion as they take £1 in every £8 of retail spending but also the Uk must be absolutely tailor made for internet with our ridiculous overheads on property plus staff not to mention shoplifters. We're shopping crazy at the moment with 4 times the retail shopping area of Germany if I've read things right and with the safeguards offered by credit card companies the scope for competition online must be only just beginning. For me the biggest pain is actually having someone in to receive the goods. If this can be addressed with local pick-up points, cellar delivery chutes or whatever I'd certainly buy more online.
Now look what crap is being issued by the BBC since Greg and his Mate resigned. what ever next? They will be interviewing the, now demolished, ex tulse hill school pupil who is currently mayor of London and an expert on the Crested Newt next (to name only one of his interests). I should have kept my mouth shut ! as they (the BBC) now have a story line or two for the interview).
