I know of two in Lagos, one in the office of "Bom Dia" cruise boats, which is fast and cheap, forget the one in the marina cafe, slow and expensive! The other is over by the bus station, anybody around there in the marina will tell you exactly where, its fast and cheap, about £1 per hour.

I've generally paid up to £2 per hour in Spain (Atlantic coast). The one at Bayona marina is free (but slow) - at least is was last year.

One thing, I more often than not, download all my E mails to a disc, then take it back to the boat returning later with all the answers on the disc from my own confuser, then paste them, which then takes only minutes of airtime, saves a bunch of money, I do that with outlook when onboard with my mobile.

In Portugal you get 30mins free on the internet at any public library.

Unfortunately they've recently banned the use of the FDD.

You'll find an internet café in most large ports in Spain - ask at the capitanerie.
Prices tend to be low about 2-6 euros per 60 mins, but the keyboards are all Spanish, which means you dare not touch-type.

In both countries ISP and connections are pretty slow, so don't try uploading any large files (500 kB appears to be as large as they can handle)

Did you see my old posting about internet access abroad?

http://www.mailwasher.net

And then I use Outlook Express after using mailwasher - the system works great.

I use http://www.raymarine.com Navigator to view GRIB data for the weather

I use http://www.navcenter.com/grb/EastAtlantic.zip
to download a free 5 day GRIB forecast which is invaluable.

And I use http://www.rcds.co.uk for navigation with the printable ARCS charts - definitely the most accurate and really cheap for yearly updates.

Here's a review I did of the seatrak software

I think that's it. Oh, I use an Ericsson T39 with infra-red and Windows XP Pro. I also use http://www.getright.com to manage my weather downloads.

SNIP----

Hope this is helpful
