Internally regulated alternator

question regarding the use of an internally regulated alternator with external regulator-Have Heart Interface 2000r with a Ideal regulator system, currently have a 130amp externally regulated alternator--my spare alt. is 55amp internally regulated,any suggestion on how I could use the 55amp. Thanks

I don't know in detail but the instructions (web site) for the smart regulators give details on how to open up various alternators to gain connection to the brushes and field coil to connect an external reg. Your reg should be able to be connected in similar way to the smart regs. good luck olewill
