On my newly acquired Westerly the cabin interior bulkheads etc are a form of Formica/Melamine 'fake teak' faced ply. The previous owner has removed some fittings (clock etc) which has left 'shadows'. Does anyone have any good ideas for restoring the faded parts to match the original?. Thanks.

Hi,

Two routes to try... Contact manufacturers such as Polyrey on 01923 202700 or Formica on 0191 259 3000. Both technical depts should be able to advise on UV damage to wood effect laminate. I believe that this type of material is based on resin impregnated paper.

...or contact Westerly to see if they will tell you which manufacturer supplied them and try the above route again.

Hope you have some success.

Dog.
