Yes. The unfortunate legal thing is that hosts of sites can be held responsible for opinions expressed thereon. Bit of a sticky wicket.

My suspicion is that Kim et al are hacked off moderating and so they introduce auto censorship of bad words and are just killing controversial threads so as not to waste time later, this may also be the 'real' rationale for the lounge?

Agreed, the moderation on this forum is a bit too nanny state for my liking

Cyclotouriste - Kim - take note!

jeez, i wonderd why it was a bit quiet around here, that's fantastic! Now THAT'S why the f-word and more should be allowed! Real language being used with passion, fabulous!

But i am afraid it wdve defnitely definetely got pulled here - a big shame.

A suggestion

A suggestion, Rather than can an etire thread or postings to a thread, if Kim is worried about the content of a post then perhaps he could set the thread to be accessible by subscribed users and not anonymous ones...... in the T&Cs for the sign up for the login change the legals to make it CLEAR in bloody big letters that you agree that anyhting posted on a closed thread will not be fair game in a libel case.......

Re: A suggestion

Nice idea but, as a legal indemnity, I suspect it would be about as effective at its job as a fishnet condom. :)

Or a swear button so that I could see what a users has posted and overide the auto censorship when I viewing posts, generally much more funny if the original anglo saxon is left in ....
