This has been mentioned before but they are getting down to it now. I am not a fan of American big boat, paradise videos but this one is interesting. They have taken on a Beneteau 49 which had had a heavy grounding and detached keel grid:

It gives an insight into this form of construction; they are hard workers and tough, with luck, I think they will get there.

If you look closely on one episode they cut the Kevlar and refer to it repeatedly as glass. They are a few months ahead in real life so assume they succeed enough in the end to sail. Very glad they’re done with sanding, not sure we needed that many videos of that bit but at least it’s representative of the work involved. Hope they do succeed but it blows my mind that it’ll be worth the effort and costs I assume it must have still been pricey as breaking it would have netted a fair bit in parts

Erik's out and about again way up in the north Atlantic, some great drone footage underway

Give me seasonal Scotland or Scandinavia any day over the Med. Incredible scenery and much quieter. I have been up the west coast of Sweden but not Norway, had no idea it is as Erik shows, what an amazing trip. His Contessa stands up well to the elements, interesting modifications and gadgets. The video of him choosing to go out in a Force 10 was interesting.

Interesting choice of Boat for his travels... this is what they say on yachtsnet Even now a Contessa 35 is a very fast boat for her size, particularly to windward. However unlike most more modern racers, she gets her speed from a big rig on a hull with a high (over 50%) ballast ratio instead of relying on the weight of many crew members sitting on the rail. This makes her an easy to handle and surprisingly docile cruising boat. When a modern production cruiser - Beneteau, Jeanneau or Bavaria etc - is overpowered and rounding up as she heels the Contessa 35 will just heel a bit more and carry on going the way you want. You can always slow down a fast boat, but you cannot speed up a slow one.....

I've been picking this up too. I'm hoping that they get further away than Sailboat Story has done so far. There is more to cruising than the Caribbean.

Possibly the most irritatingly fake perfect couple on the internet.
So far all they've done on tape is chase the damage they can see, I'm not sure they've even tapped the hull with a hammer. If I were taking on that project I would be paying for a structural analysis and repair scheme rather than "it's just fiberglass" ing it. I can see another Parlay Revival on the cards. Or worse still a Zingaro. (he's seen sense and bought an Oyster)
