\'Interesting\' Weather front
Heavily helped by forumites more adept at IT mysteries than me, hope these photos are worth the effort. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
On a delivery down to Gibraltar in Sept 2002, the following weather front was seen approaching, while off Islas Cies, near Bayona.
From the boat, it looked exactly like violent breaking surf.
Took in all sail & headed for shelter between islands. However, got hit by front just before getting there, winds instantly 40+ , with hail, lightning & heavy rain, which persisted all night.
Any weather experts able to explain how this type of formation occurs?
