Interesting source of free oceanic weather data.

My youngest has recently joined the merchant navy and is currently half way across the Pacific heading for China. I have been following his progress using this website Sailwx.info, his boat is the Zim Panama.

The interesting bit for the forum is that many ships appear to send real-time weather information to this site every six hours. By selecting an appropriate ship you can see what the actual weather statistics are in almost any part of the worlds oceans.
