the two input drive bearings for my 280 leg are priced on marinepartseurope website at 160+euros and 56euros or thereabouts...
swift internet search and bexhill bearings provide the same for less than 30 quid the pair....????????????

Ah but have they got that invisible volvo penta coating that allows them to charge 4 times the price /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

it's the same story with lots of parts volvo don't make v belts oil filters, fuel filters, starter motors, alternators, find the part numbers and x reference for a quarter of the price, the problem has always been prefix a product with the word marine and the price just rockets. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Exactly the same thing when we did my bearings, had priced it all up from all the usual supects and was moaning about it to the guy who owns the gearbox outfit next door to where I work.
He made a swift phone call and the following morning, the stuff turmed up in a jiffy bag from some bearing outfit up in the Midlands.About £35.00 as I recall for both bearings and including postage.
