I remember three of us going to the Gower for a shore dive in my mums Ford Fiesta. Going through Swansea the hand brake packed up which gave me good experience at thinking ahead at all junctions and traffic lights with any kind of slope.
If we were caught out the form was for the two passengers to go around the back and hold the car in place and after pulling away I had to drive slowly up the hill whilst they both got in including one of them getting into the back seat.
But why do you need a handbrake. I rarely use it. Even the clutch can be done away with , i managed to get a sierra cossie from Bristol to Cardiff without one.
