Kind of ?
Some boats have a “ Pullman “ style set up anyhow .
I’ve seem two versions ( there may be more )
1- in a SS superhawk 43 - latest model , and Riviera 42 the whole back rear swings out and is on the SS supported by straps fron lugs on the ceiling or on the Riviera by poles in the floor .
Prob with these the back rest on the said saloon seating looks odd in the sense it’s obviously a straight 6ft 4 rectangle .
2- like on a spleeper train a bed that folds down from waist high cabin wall ,there’s usually another bed / sofa underneath .
Found in a twin , that can now be a triple.
On a bigger boat with enough cabins , usually the lounge stays a lounge .Aside the lounge seating is long enough to short term put some one up ,or there’s an in fil .Ours has in the saloon an electrically adjustable rectangular table that lowers without touching the seat bases
Ours has in the saloon Converts into a double bed literally at the touch of the button. .
There s a concealed curtain track in the ceiling ,and a curtain folded neatly our of sight in a cupboard to give the occupant (s) a bit of privacy from the rest of the saloon .
Used it once .
Point is I think there’s plenty of bed innovations out there all ready , how ever nice to see another .
We have only used the saloon infill arrangement as a double bed on one occasion.
6 people (three couples) on a 33ft boat . All good friends. The guests slept in the cabins.
I expected to feel uncomfortable but it was not so.
Just to be clear , I only used the saloon bed once , buts it’s still a clever idea ,touch button etc .
A impromptu lads trip , all the trimmings , beers , curies , burbs , farts , snoring , the lot .
Only 3 of us , on the boat , separate cabins or spaces kinda agreed by grunting and nodding like blokes do , in a pub beforehand after a skin full .A doss down space ,not a planned “holiday “ .Mates arn,t bothered which cabin .
Reason we dossed on the boat ,nobody wanted to drive ( car in Fr ) next day .
Fast fwd to normal service , we put guests up in our property in Antibes and they have used local Hotels around Cannes ,
